Chino Creek Wetlands
and Educational Park

The Chino Creek Wetlands and Educational Park was developed by the Inland Empire Utilities Agency under a grant from the State Water Resources Control Board. The park will provide a hands-on opportunity for the community to experience the importance of constructed wetlands in the protection of our watershed. The park will have a historical timeline of the influence of water in our region’s economic development. Stylized graphs of the hydrologic water cycle will illustrate the importance of water conservation by showing examples of non-conservation, such as over-watering yards.

The Park will improve water quality, flood control, habitat restoration, recreation, water conservation and public education. Wetland systems offer numerous benefits, especially in this age of concern about wetland losses and the focus on natural and open space. The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is very proud of the tremendous community involvement in this project. There have been over 1,000 volunteers who participated in the construction of the park.

The Chino Creek Wetlands and Educational Park has:

  • 22,000 various drought tolerant plants
  • Over 5 miles of irrigation
  • 6 connecting ponds
  • 3 engineered subsurface wetland cells
  • 1.7 miles of pathways
  • Recycled water running through the park, even during the dry years

Come and witness the beauty and the educational value that the wetlands and park have to offer. The Chino Creek Wetlands and Educational Park are located at 6075 Kimball Avenue, Chino, California.
